Love Dr. Em

After taking the “How-to Guide to Courtship” Masterclass, I purchased and read Em’s book “The Don’t Before I Do.” This book is a MUST READ!!! I loved that Em was so vulnerable and shared so much of her story. Every chapter is summarized with “Lessons Learned,” and I found this very helpful and encouraging! I knew that I had to change the way I dated if I wanted to attract and find my future husband.

The first year that Kashif and I were hanging out and just friends, I already knew that I wanted us to be much more than that. I wanted this man to be my future husband because we had so much in common. He was a Godly man and as a bonus, he was following Emily on social media as well. This is probably when I would bug poor Emily the most: “what should I do, how I should act, and am I doing too much? 😂”

After attending Emily’s New Beginnings Masterclass, my perception of dating completely changed. I learned that starting a new chapter in my life required internal work on myself to ensure I was spiritually sound and confident in the woman that God created me to be.

I instantly felt like she got me! She gave me perspective, strength, and hope for my love journey. Even her constructive feedback was given with care and a desire for me to reach success in this area. Within 6 months of us working together combined with me putting in the work between sessions and being super focused on being the best me, God placed an incredible man in my life.

Emily challenged me to identify my “Top 5” and non-negotiables in a man and to always “be a delight”. My mother finds that hilarious since I’m not your typical “delightful” woman. Mom will call me sometimes and say, “Are you being a delight today”, to which I roll my eyes, put on some lip gloss and smile at the next cute guy to walk by. I guess “being a delight” works because within a few months, I went from no dates to going on dates almost weekly. Although they weren’t “the one” per se, I enjoyed the new confident me, being pursued, and honestly just getting back out there.
